Veep visits student
who escaped rape at Korle Bu
The Vice President, Kwesi Amissah-Arthur, on
Tuesday visited the final year student of the
University of Ghana Medical School, who is on
admission at the hospital, after managing to
escape from an alleged rapist.
The student jumped from the second floor of her
hostel to escape an attempted rape.
The lady who is currently recuperating from
injuries, narrated her ordeal to the Vice
President.
Mr Amissah-Arthur, who was impressed by the
courage of the young woman, presented her with
an undisclosed sum of money to support her
medical bills as well as a signed “Get Well Soon”
card.
Criminal charges have already been brought
against the suspect.
The Vice President was accompanied by the
Minister of Education Professor Jane Naana
Opoku Agyemang, Deputy Minister of Education,
Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa and Deputy Minister
for Transport Joyce Bawa Mogtari.
