New load-shedding timetable
will address disparities- ECG
The Electricity Company of Ghana ( ECG) has
confirmed that the new load management
program for the country will prevent the situation
where some households go without power for
more than two days or more.
According to the revised load-shedding program,
households will be without power for 24 hours as
compared to the previous 12 hours.
ECG says households are expected to enjoy 12
hours of constant Electricity supply under the
new program that has been in operation for some
time now.
This comes at a time when consumers are
demanding that ECG explains why some
communities have been without power for more
than 2 or 3 days .
Addressing the press, the Director of Operations
at ECG, Engineer Tetteh Okine assured that the
program will be reviewed before the end of
March.
“We’ve already started, so far we’ve made the
programme till the end of March. But the load
management committee meets regularly so as
and when we meet we will review the situation, if
there is the need to make any changes to the
timetable then we will do that. This programme
is to make sure you don’t go off two days or
three days.”
